Understanding male fertility is a crucial aspect of family planning. Our male fertility screening process is designed to be straightforward and informative.

Semen Analysis:

The initial step involves a semen analysis, examining the quality, quantity, and movement of sperm. If the results are within normal ranges, further testing may not be required. To ensure accurate results, patients are advised to abstain from sex or masturbation for at least 3 days before providing a sample.

The sample should be collected in a sterile pot (provided during the initial clinic consultation) and promptly taken to the laboratory, as sperm has a limited lifespan of 60-90 minutes. Results are typically available in 2-3 days.

Additional Testing if Needed:

In the event of an abnormal semen analysis, the next step is a scrotal (testicle) ultrasound. This diagnostic procedure helps identify any physical abnormalities within the testicles. If the ultrasound results are normal, further testing, including genetic testing, may be recommended.
